Show your support for the Writers Guild

Yesterday, fans on Whedonesque.com got together to show their support of the Writers Guild of America by ordering and delivering pizzas to striking writers in Los Angeles. They’re also planning other ways to show that fans understand how important good writing is to quality television, and that we believe writers deserve fair compensation for their work.
I’ve created these graphics to allow others to show their support. Obviously, these ones are specific to Whedon fans, but I’ve included the Illustrator file below so you can make your own, saying “House fans support the writers,” or “Pushing Daisies fans support the writers,” etc. If you don’t have Adobe Illustrator, drop me a line and I’ll throw one together with your fandom on it. Please check the list below first to see if your fandom is already represented.

Wow, dude, these icons rock! As a working WGA member and a guy who’s been out on the picket lines every day since this strike began, I can tell you that stuff like this is really meaningful to us! The feeling among many writers out here is that our side of the story is not being told properly (or at all!) in the mainstream media, so it’s really cool to find people like you doing cool stuff like this for us!

Thanks so much for doing this. I’m both a fan and an amateur writer, and I know how much love, emotion, and hard work goes into every project these people put into their work. The film and television industries alone are multi-billion dollar industries, and too little of the profits are given to the backbone of each project: THE WRITERS. If it weren’t for the writers, there would be no scripts or screenplays. The proof is in the pudding, folks. Both industries came to a screeching halt. Getting back to the tables and giving these talented people what they deserve is a win/win situation for everyone.
